Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Question #1: What is the average bladder life?

The diaphragm life of the Triform is designed for thousands of cycles and several months under typical use. Triform field studies show that with proper care a year is not unusual.

To further extend your bladder life, it is typical to use "wear pads" between the bladder and part to extend the life of the bladder. The wear pads are typically 3mm-12mm thick rubber or urethane and cost between $25-$100 each. Often these are just inexpensive rubber remnants and will last for hundreds to thousands of parts, depending on the forming pressures and sharp angles on the tooling.

Question #2: How much time does it take to replace a bladder?

The Triform was designed with serviceability in mind. A bladder change requires only one person about 30 minutes with no special tools required.

Question #3: What is the life expectancy of the Triform machines?

Beckwood Press and Pryer Technology Group utilize the latest in engineering technology to design their equipment to exceed industry standards.

All structural systems including the containment chambers are designed for ‘infinite life’. All designs must pass detailed FEA testing.

Question #4: How easy will it be to acquire replacement parts and components worldwide?

All hydraulic, mechanical, electrical components and CNC Controls are standardized, readily available and considered 'off the shelf' from the OEM suppliers. All critical components are sourced from top of the line manufacturers such as; Allen Bradley, Parker Hannifin, Bosch Rexroth, OilGear and the like. We strive to design each system with serviceability in mind.

Question #5: What are the operating costs associated with owning a Triform press?

The cost of ownership is very low. Other than the electrical power required, the consumables are the bladder and wear pads. Of course there are oil filters to change occasionally with routine maintenance.

For those operators that are new to sheet hydroforming, during the first year you might expect to replace a few additional bladders during the learning experience of designing tooling and learning the operation and the tooling setups of the machine.

Question #6: What is the warranty?

Beckwood Press offers a full one year warranty and warrants to the original purchaser that the equipment shall be free from defects in material and workmanship.

Question #7: Do you offer assistance during startup?

Yes, all Triform Hydroform presses are installed by Beckwood technicians and provide assistance during startup.
